Wistful Time of Year

Fat red berries on bush and tree
The sun still shines
The sky is blue
Some birds start to make their way home
To the land of their birth

The white rose
Fragrant
Hints at the Summer past

A wistful time of year
As all the signs of nature
Heralds the Autumn to come

Most leaves still green
Will soon change
To red, yellow and gold

Gradually falling
To leave the branches
Bare, unprotected
To stand the cold winds to come

Naked against the frozen air

about

Rugosa Hips Ramsgate, UK

Rugosa Hips are Rosie Eaglen and Steven Foy. Both are visual artists and Steven was the one time drummer with the 80s/90s Manchester grunge band Tunnel Frenzies.
Both wanted to make atmospheric music that was simple and intimate. The marriage of Steven's sometimes wistful guitar and melodies, with the clarity of Rosie's vocals and the graphic quality of her lyrics creates the mood and imagery.
